Grants

The scientific committee will evaluate awarding grants to those delegates who have presented a project within the congress. 

You can make a request at the time of sending your oral presentation or poster through an online form.

The Technical Secretariat will contact you to inform you in the case you have been granted the grants. 

FEMS Grants

The 14th International Adenovirus Meeting has been selected by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) to offer grants for congress participation for Early Career Researchers**.

Eligibility

To apply for this grant, you have to meet following requirements:

  • be a member of a FEMS Member Society* or be recommended by such a member
  • be an Early Career Scientist**
  • be an Active Microbiologist
  • be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)

* Find out if your society is a FEMS Member.

** These are active microbiologists who obtained the highest academic degree – Bachelor, Master or PhD – less than five years prior to the application deadline date, or are a Master or PhD student.

Application process

The FEMS grant will support a maximum of 10 participants. The selected participants will receive a reimbursement of their registration fee (250€). 

If you are interested and eligible, please submit a completed Grant Application Form (please download here to congressmad@atlanta.es with the subject “14th IAM FEMS application”, before March 12th 2021. 

The form must be accompained by:

  • a certificate showing your academic degree; 
  • a recommendation letter by a FEMS member, if applicable; 
  • your abstract number. Please notice that you can only apply for this grant after you have registered for the meeting and submitted your abtract. 

The organizing committee will evaluate the applications and communicate the result to the applicants by March 26th 2021. 

Unsucessful applications will automatically be considered as candidates for alternative support. You do not need to apply for both

Other Grants

Other sponsors are also providing support to facilitate meeting attendance to early career researchers, or participants from lower income regions. The number of grants and amounts awarded will depend on the final sponsorship obtained.

In the message, include your name, affiliation, career status (predoc, postdoc, junior PI, senior researcher, etc) and abstract number. Please notice that you can only apply for this grant after you have registered for the meeting and submitted your abstract.

The organizing committee will evaluate the applications and communicate the result to the applicants by March 26th 2021.

Unsuccessful FEMS applications will automatically be considered as candidates for this alternative support. You do not need to apply for both.

SEBBM Grants

The Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (http://sebbm.es/) offers 4 grants of 200€ each for young researchers attending the meeting. To apply for this grant, you have to meet th following requirements: 

  1. Attend the 14th IAM.
  2. Be under 31 years of age at the time of the meeting.
  3. Be a member (ordinary or associate) of the SEBBM (https://www.sebbm.es/web/en/members/join-sebbm)

If you are interested, please send a message to congressmad@atlanta.es with the subject “14th IAM SEBBM GRANT application”, before March 12th 2021. In the message, include your name, affiliation, proof of age and SEBBM membership, and 14th IAM registration number. 

The organizing committee will evaluate the applications and communicate the result to the applicants by March 26th 2021.

ESCMID Grants

ESCMID members can apply for an Attendance Grant, where ESCMID will support their attendance at the meeting with free registration. Apply before March 12th 2021 on the ESCMID website. Successful applicants will be informed within two weeks following the deadline.
